Bass
I consider myself very lucky to have been able to play music with a bunch of like minded musicians in the Metrowest area of Massachusetts. The last ten plus years were spent playing gigs with Broken Rose doing lot’s of tunes in the classic rock vein but mostly songs in the Grateful Dead family. There’s nothing I like better than finding the Zone, folding up the map and jamming. I’m psyched to have the opportunity to play with my old friends in Deadbeat.
I discovered the Dead in 1970 when I was ten years old and I heard Truckin’ on the radio. I immediately got on my bike and rode to the Music Center in Needham to buy the 45 rpm record. I remember Ripple was the song on the B side and I didn’t like it as much as Truckin’ and I wondered why such a slow song would be put on the B side. Well things have changed since then and I now realize that Ripple is one of the finest songs in the Grateful Dead catalog.
